My current and past
research interests are mainly in the field of Machine Learning (ML) and Data
Mining (DM) for Knowledge Discovery in Databases (KDD), they include:
- Applications of ML/DM, esp.
embedding them into business specific products
- Computational learning theory
- Multi-Relational Data Mining
(MRDM), e.g. Induction of Logic Programs (ILP), Induction and Description
Logic Ontology’s and Description Logic Programs
- Multi-Strategy Learning
- The pre-processing phase of the
KDD-process

customer/employee satisfaction analysis, web-usage mining.
- Since 2009 senior researcher at
the Dynamic and Distributed
Information Systems Group (DDIS) of the Department of Informatics at University of Zurich working in the European
Union FP7 Collaborative Research Project
e-LICO on end-user support for Data Mining, i.e. combining planning, case-based
reasoning and meta-learning into a collaborative KDD process assistant.
